Wheeljack in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Boy…look at that baby! This is a concept car for SAAB, called the Aero-X. That car is awesome and rumor has it that this is the famous scientist Autobot known as Wheeljack in the highly anticipated Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Wheeljack is the scientist/warrior autobot who invents new weapons and gadgets to help the Autobot’s cause, but often bring danger to them due to unpredictable elements in critical situations. Wheeljack is the most impressive driver among the Autobots, and likes to show off by doing a lot of driving stunts. In the original Transformers cartoon, Wheeljack can fly short distances using his rockets that are attached to his arms. He can shoot magnetic inducer, shrapnel-needle and gyro-inhibitor shells which cause disruption in the enemies balance.

If you ask me, Wheeljack is a damn cool Autobot and I hope that the rumors are true because I would love to see him in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. It is said that the source of the rumor is very credible. Wheeljack was pitched for the line up of robots for the first Transformers movie but did not make the final cut. Tell us what you guys think of this awesome Autobot. Check out pictures of this concept car by click continue reading.

Video: 2010 Chevy Volt & Corvette Concept at Transformers 2 Movie Set

We finally managed to find the amateur video from the ‘Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen’ movie set. The video shows what appears to be the production version (or pretty damn close to production) of the 2010 Chevrolet Volt along with shots of the Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro, the Chevrolet Beat, the Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Design Concept and some other Chevys during the filming of a scene for the new TransChevys, err we mean Transformers 2 movie. Watch the video after the jump. -Continued

Saab Aero-X Debuts in Transformers Sequel - 2009

According to a highly credible source as of late that ties into a mention by Eric Geers during an interview at the North American International Auto Show in January, the Saab Aero-X Concept car will be debuting in the second Transformers film which apparently will be on or near June 24th 2009. With General Motors the main sponsor for the first Transformers movie in 2007, it gives even more credibility to this news as of late as the Saab brand under GM ownership making an appropriate debut like this.

I understand that the Saab Aero-X will be a new version of the transformer character called “WheelJack”. Wheeljack has many similiar design elements, especially the notable wrap-around windscreen and white body color.

The irony if this character is chosen to embody the Aero-X concept car, is that “wheeljack”, was apparently a LANCIA vehicle, harkening back to Saab’s past history collaborating with Lancia (Fiat) on both the Saab 600 and 9000 projects.

I wonder if the Saab Aero-X will take on a new transforming routine by converting into a jet, hence the “Born From Jets” tagline or will it turn into the same character as Wheeljack, just a robot or both a robot and an airplane?

It will be interesting as time moves on where and when this Aero-X will be depicted in this film.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

On the Transformers site, it was confirmed that several new Decepticons would form Devastator in the 2009 sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen , and that he would have powerful upper body strength, similar to a gorilla. Nothing is currently known of any effort to reconcile the naming disparities between the two devastators. He will also be made up of 7 vehicles. The Super Bowl XLIII teaser revealed a large robot at the end with a wheel which in actuality is Scavenger who transforms into a Terex RH400 Hydraulic Mining Excavator. He becomes the torso of Devastator in the movie.
